About Us
Danville Driving Academy (DDA) is a family-owned teen driving school offering drivers ed in Knox County, Ohio. DDA is based out of the Danville Local School’s elementary building located at 205 W. Rambo Street (entrance on Richards Street). Danville Driving Academy was founded in 2021 by Josh Gardner after he and his family returned to their hometown of Danville.
Josh, and his wife, Kayla, are both Danville High School graduates. Kayla is a Physician Assistant (PA) working with Avita Health System, serving Richland Co. Their six -year old daughter, Lily Mae and 2 year old son, Benny keep them on their toes and they love attending Danville sporting events to cheer on the Blue Devils. You can occasionally spot them riding around town on her golf cart, helping her mom pick flowers for Gardner’s Gardens flower stand, or helping dad hang Christmas lights in the winter months.
Here at Danville Driving Academy, we understand the difficulty of having minimal options available to conquer this stage in your child’s life. Busy, hard-working parents don’t always have the availability to drive long distances only to wait for a class to be completed. That’s why we founded Danville Driving Academy. We want to give our rural families another option, closer to home.
Above all, we value the safety of our students, and look forward to educating them on safest driving practices, risk management, laws of the road, and much more. To do this effectively, we will be keeping our class size smaller than that of a typical driver’s education program. Behind-the-wheel training on predetermined routes will be used to reinforce concepts learned in class.
